Paper/Poster Submission Instructions

Authors of papers and posters are invited to submit a full paper by the deadline and await notification of acceptance from the Program Committee.


Paper and poster submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee based on the following criteria:

  • scientific and technical quality;
  • significance, originality and potential to generate wider discussion and impact at the conference;
  • alignment with Locate17’s themes;
  • clarity of submission presentation and adherence to submission criteria and style guidelines; and
  • accessibility of the research to researchers, industry and government audience from across the breadth of expertise in spatial information.

Papers submitted to Research@Locate must be:


Titles must be typed in regular capitalization of English (no capitalization for emphasis). For users of LaTeX we provide a style file and a template.


Posters submitted to Research@Locate must be:


Only accepted papers will be published in the proceedings. Only accepted posters will be presented in the oral poster session. Authors of accepted papers and posters must guarantee that their paper/poster will be presented at the conference by one of the listed authors.


The accepted papers will appear in the CEUR Workshop Proceedings Series, a free open-access publication service of Sun SITE Central Europe. The copyright of each paper remains with the authors, and each author is responsible for maintaining the copyright of the presented material. The accepted abstracts of poster presentations will be published on the Research@Locate17 website.


The authors of selected high quality papers will be invited to submit revised versions to a special issue of the International Journal of Digital Earth. The revisions must be significantly extended in their contribution to knowledge (30%) and could, for example, include progress made since the conference paper submission.
